AJ Products Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Takeback Scheme
If you're a private consumer purchasing electrical or electronic equipment (EEE) from us, we operate a takeback service where we will recycle your old one for free, even if you didn't buy it from us. Old unwanted electrical and electronic equipment can be dropped off at AJ Products within 28 days of purchasing a new item. There will be no charge for recycling your unwanted item. Alternatively, we can collect the item from you for a small charge that covers our transport costs. Keeping reading to find out more!
How does it work?
- Any customer purchasing new electrical and electronic equipment as a private customer for household use is entitled to take part in the free takeback scheme.
- We will take back old, unwanted electrical and electronic equipment on a like for like basis.
- The scheme covers any electrical and electronic waste of the same type or function as the item you purchasing from us. The old unwanted item that is being replaced does not have to have been purchased from AJ Products.
- For example, if you are replacing an old sit-stand desk purchased from another retailer, we'll take back your old one.
- Electrical and electronic waste (WEEE) can be dropped off at the AJ Products site within 28 days of purchasing a new item (prior agreement required).
- AJ Products can also arrange collection from a customer’s home but will charge a small fee to cover our transport costs.
- There will be no charge for the disposal and recycling of the unwanted item.

What can I recycle as part of the takeback scheme?
- Look out for the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol, any item marked with this symbol (on the product itself, the instructions or the packaging) is eligible for the WEEE takeback scheme.
- We will take back any electrical item where you are replacing it like for like.
- We accept old items purchased from other retailers.
- We cannot accept any WEEE where you are not purchasing a new item from us nor we can accept any additional WEEE outside of the item being replaced.
Am I eligible?
- Under the government scheme, anyone purchasing as a private customer where the waste would go into household waste is eligible for the takeback scheme.
- We regret that we have not currently extended this scheme to business purchases. However, if you are business customer that needs help with WEEE, please don't hesitate to contact us.
