Happiness at work starts with responsibility
At AJ Products, we believe that Happiness at work begins with taking responsibility for our employees, our customers, the planet and everyone affected by our operations. That's why we work every day to create better workplaces, reduce environmental and climate impact, and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Three dimensions of responsibility
For us, sustainability is about people, the planet and the future, combined with responsible and long-term business practices. This means creating safe and inclusive workplaces, reducing environmental and climate impact throughout the value chain, and maintaining responsible governance that strengthens the business over time. Together, these three areas form the foundation of Happiness at work.
Certifications and memberships

ISO 9001 & 14001
ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are international standards for quality and environmental management systems. Annual audits by independent accredited bodies ensure that our processes are continuously reviewed and improved. AJ Products has been certified to these standards for many years.
EcoVadis
EcoVadis is a global platform that assesses companies' sustainability performance across four areas: environment, labour and human rights, business ethics, and sustainable procurement. AJ Products has been awarded a Gold rating, placing us among the top 5% of all companies assessed. See our EcoVadis assessment.
UN Global Compact
The UN Global Compact is the world's largest voluntary initiative for sustainable business. It encourages companies to align their operations with ten universal principles covering human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption. AJ Products is a participant in the initiative.

Happiness for people: For workplaces where people thrive
Job satisfaction starts with people. That's why we focus on creating sustainable workplaces where idividuals feel safe, valued and supported in their development.
This is how we contribute to more sustainable workplaces:
- We improve workplace safety and conditions across Europe through structured health and safety processes, including training and ongoing monitoring.
- We promote inclusive workplaces where everyone is treated fairly and with respect, supported by clear policies and procedures on equality, diversity and anti-harassment.
- We help ensure responsible working conditions across our supply chain through a supplier code of conduct, risk assessments and regular audits.
- We develop and offer products and solutions that support wellbeing, including ergonomic design, active working and improved acoustic environments.

As a family-owned company, we think long-term. We want to create value not only today, but for future generations, and that requires a sustainable way of working."
Enock Johansson, AJ ProductsHappiness for the planet: For reduced environmental and climate impact
By reducing emissions, using resources efficiently and offering long-lasting products, we contribute to more sustainable workplaces. Our goal is to reduce our environmental and climate impact across the entire value chain and, over time, achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions.
This is what we do to reduce our environmental and climate impact:
- We reduce our direct and indirect emissions through energy efficiency measures, smarter transportation solutions and investments in our own solar energy systems.
- We extend the lifespan of our products by offering a wider range of spare parts and increasingly designing products that are easier to repair, reuse and recycle.
- We offer several thousand eco-labelled products, including FSC®-certified options, as well as products reviewed by Möbelfakta, the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, the EU Ecolabel and Byggvarubedömningen.
- We increase transparency through environmental product declarations (EPDs) and climate data, helping customers make more informed and sustainable choices.
- We set clear environment requirements for our suppliers and actively monitor compliance.

Happiness that lasts: For a more sustainable future
As a family-owned company, we take a long-term view and aim to take responsibility for the future by building a business that creates value for generations to come. Sustainability is embedded in our strategy, guiding decision-making and governance across the organisation.
This is how we build a long-term and more sustainable business:
- We integrate sustainability into our business strategy, aligned with frameworks such as the EU’s CSRD.
- We strengthen our operations through digital tools, improved data and clear, structured processes.
- We define our responsibilities through codes of conduct, policies, training and strong leadership.
- We are transparent through ongoing communication and annual reporting, as well as through our commitment to the UN Global Compact, where we demonstrate how we contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Development, participation and equal opportunities
In our own workplaces, we invest for the long term in both the physical working environment and in training and internal programmes that give our employees new opportunities to grow within the company and strengthen their skills over time. Our employee surveys show high levels of engagement and pride, which is an important indication that our way of working contributes to an attractive and more sustainable workplace.
We also work actively to strengthen openness, dialogue and diversity across the organisation. Policies and working practices are regularly reviewed to ensure fair conditions, and we have clear guidelines in place to prevent discrimination and harassment. We continuously monitor goals and results related to engagement, leadership and the working environment and report on our progress in our sustainability report.
