Happiness for the planet: For reduced environmental and climate impact
For us, Happiness at work also means taking responsibility for how we impact the world around us, today and for future generations. That’s why we focus on reducing emissions, using resources more efficiently, and developing products that are durable and increasingly designed with circularity in mind. By doing so, we reduce our climate impact across the entire value chain and contribute to workplaces that are better for both people and the planet.
Reduced emissions throughout the value chain
We have set long-term climate goals to reduce our environmental impact across the entire value chain and contribute to the global transition to a low-carbon economy.
Our overall goal is to achieve climate neutrality by 2040 and to ensure that all purchased transport is fossil-free by 2030. We are working to validate our climate targets according to the Science Based Targets initiative and to develop a clearer roadmap for our climate transition.
We are also working to reduce our carbon emissions from both our own operations and our products. By mapping emissions across Scope 1, 2 and 3, we gain a clearer understanding of our overall impact and can prioritise the most effective actions.
To reduce emissions in our own operations, we focus on improving energy efficiency, installing more solar panels, purchasing renewable electricity and opimising transport. At the same time, we are taking steps to reduce the climate impact of our product range, for example by increasing the use of recycled materials and offering more spare parts to extend product lifecycles.
More sustainable products
We continuously work to improve our product range in terms of quality, chemical content, traceability and material selection. This helps reduce environmental impact while making it easier for customers to make more sustainable choices.
- Through our materials portal, we collect and manage data on materials so that we can select more sustainable alternatives, ensure that products do not contain hazardous substances, and increase the proportion of recycled materials.
- An increasing number of products are also reviewed by independent certification schemes such as Möbelfakta and Byggvarubedömningen, making it easier for customers to identify more sustainable options.
- We are also carrying out more life cycle assessments (LCA) and producing environmental product declarations (EPD) to provide detailed environmental and climate data to our stakeholders.
- Our range includes FSC®-certified products and raw materials, meaning that the wood comes from responsibly managed forests that meet strict requirements for environmental protection, social responsibility and traceability.
Progress is monitored through indicators such as the number of products with third-party certification, which we report on in our sustainability report.

Towards a more circular future
The longer a product is used, the lower its climate impact. That's why we focus on circular solutions and services that extend product lifecycles and reduce the use of resources. We already offer a 7-year warranty today to support a long-term use.
We do this by:
- Testing materials for durability and quality so that products last longer
- Offering a growing range of spare parts to help extend product lifecycles
- Designing products that are easy to disassemble, repair and recycle, and providing customers with clear disassembly instructions
- Working with partners to create circular solutions, recovering products that might otherwise be discarded
- Sorting and recycling waste generated in our operations, and handling hazardous waste in line with legal requirements and established procedures
- Reusing and recirculating pallets to extend their useful life
Progress is monitored through indicators such as the number of available spare parts and the estimated reductions in carbon emissions achieved through circular initiatives. Results are reported in our sustainability report.
