This specially-designed electrical insulation mat protects operatives against electrical shocks from open switchboards or high voltage equipment and is recommended for any areas where staff are at risk. The matting meets the most recent internationally recognised safety standard IEC 61111:2009, also known as (BS) EN 61111:2009.
There are three different thicknesses available to meet the different classes of working voltage: Class 0, Class 2 and Class 4.
Class 0: 3 mm thick; 1 KW working voltage; tested to 10 KW.
Class 2: 4 mm thick; 17 KW working voltage; tested to 30 KW.
Class 4: 5 mm thick; 36 KW working voltage; tested to 50 KW.
Each mat is colour coded on the reverse to clearly identify its voltage classification.
The electrical safety matting is made from EPDM rubber with a finely ribbed surface that helps prevents slip accidents. The mat is highly durable and is suitable for dry indoor environments in temperatures between -30°C and +80°C. Resistant to acid and oil at low temperatures. The mat is loose lay and easy to install. It can be hosed down or pressure washed using a mild detergent.
